Velocity-dependent annihilation radiation from dark matter subhalos in cosmological simulations

چکیده

We use the suite of Milky Way-like galaxies in Auriga simulations to determine contribution annihilation radiation from dark matter subhalos three velocity-dependent models: Sommerfeld, p-wave, and d-wave models. compare these corresponding distribution velocity-independent s-wave model. For both hydrodynamical dark-matter-only simulations, only case Sommerfeld-enhanced does total flux exceed smooth halo component within virial radius halo. Progressing Sommerfeld s, p, models, becomes more dominant, implying that for p-wave models is by far dominant radiation. Comparing Galactic center excess observed Fermi-LAT, all simulated halos emission dominated contribution. However, it possible extrapolation down mass scales below current resolution limit simulation would imply a non-negligible gamma-ray Center region.

On the Antimatter Signatures of the Cosmological Dark Matter Subhalos

While the PAMELA collaboration has recently confirmed the cosmic ray positron excess, it is interesting to review the effects of dark matter (DM) subhalos on the predicted antimatter signals. We recall that, according to general subhalo properties as inferred from theoretical cosmology, and for DM with constant annihilation cross section, the enhancement cannot be & 20 for the antimatter yield....

Dark matter spikes and annihilation radiation from the galactic center.

The annihilation rate of weakly interacting cold dark matter particles at the galactic center could be greatly enhanced by the growth of a density spike around the central supermassive black hole (SBH). Here we discuss the effects of hierarchical mergers on the central spike. Mergers between halos containing SBHs lead to the formation of SBH binaries which transfer energy to the dark matter par...

Extragalactic gamma-ray background radiation from dark matter annihilation

If dark matter is composed of neutralinos, one of the most exciting prospects for its detection lies in observations of the gamma-ray radiation created in pair annihilations between neutralinos, a process that may contribute significantly to the extragalactic gamma-ray background (EGB) radiation. We here use the high-resolution MillenniumII simulation of cosmic structure formation to produce th...

Cosmological simulations of multicomponent cold dark matter.

The nature of dark matter is unknown. A number of dark matter candidates are quantum flavor-mixed particles but this property has never been accounted for in cosmology. Here we explore this possibility from the first principles via extensive N-body cosmological simulations and demonstrate that the two-component dark matter model agrees with observational data at all scales. Substantial reductio...

Dark matter annihilation at cosmological redshifts: possible relic signal from weakly interacting massive particles annihilation

We discuss the possibility to observe the products of dark matter annihilation that was going on in the early Universe. Of all the particles that could be generated by this process we consider only photons, as they are both uncharged and easily detectable. The earlier the Universe was, the higher the dark matter concentration n and the annihilation rate (proportional to n) were. However, the em...
